Jackson Roth is a Senior at the University of Michigan pursuing a dual degree in Performing Arts Technology (BFA) and Philosophy (BA). He has studied and played music since he was five years old, and throughout his journey discovered not only a love for playing guitar, but also for recording and producing music. This led him to the Performing Arts Technology program at the University of Michigan.

Through his Senior year of high school and Freshman year of college he wrote for an independent music blog, dipping his hand into a different side of the industry. It allowed Jackson to explore his passion for photography from urban and natural landscapes to concerts and industry events.
In the summer between his Freshman and Sophomore year of college Jackson taught himself Unity and C#.  He created a number of projects, experimenting with AI, level design, VR, and game mechanics.  This led him to take PAT 443 (Immersive Media), where he furthered his experience with VR game design.
From this class, he joined the research project: Bringing Down the Fifth Wall, where he designed A reactive camera system which interacts with a performer's audio as well as the environment
This research project gave way to his current role with the university of Michigan's Extended Reality Initiative as an XR Audio Fellow.  in this role, he works in Unreal Engine 5 to implement spatial audio into educational VR experiences, as well as researching other softwares and recording a sound library
